STA Packing Tape, Red $3.00 |
STA colored packing tapes are an excellent alternative to iron on coverings for EPP (like the Push-E Cat) and styrofoam (like the Blue Foamie) type aircraft. Tough and very strong in tension, these tapes provide additional rigidity and damage resistance to aircraft made of all-foam structures. |

Elmers Probond Glue $5.00 |
This polyurethane glue has become the Garrison Aerodrome standard glue for EPP. For
those unfamiliar with this outstanding adhesive, Pro-Bond is a moisture cured
adhesive which foams slightly as it cures and remains flexible after its cure cycle
is complete. The cured adhesive can also be sanded much more readily than Goop or
hot melt.
The real beauty of Pro-Bond is that it actually makes the EPP stronger as it cures. Because of its foaming action and its flexible cured state, this glue effectively reinforces the bead to bead bond of the EPP, creating a load bearing adhesive skin. Urethane is best used for spars and anywhere the parts to be joined can be effectively clamped or secured against movement as the adhesive expands. Pro-Bond is suitable for use with all woods, most plastics, and EPP or Styrofoam. |

Household GOOP $5.00 |
GOOP has been a primary mainstay of EPP construction for several years now.
Goop is an excellent adhesive for attaching components which are difficult to
clamp or weight while the adhesive cures. GOOP is commonly used in Garrison
Aerodrome kits to attach tails, secure surface mounted reinforcement plates,
and to seal control cable runs and repair cracks. Cures to a clear, rubbery
consistency.
GOOP does not sand well, and excess should be removed from non-mated surfaces before the adhesive cures. Goop is also heavy compared to Pro-Bond or other model adhesives, and should be used sparingly. |
