GAB046 Install APP Connectors
on battery pack
$1.50 Anderson Power Pole connectors (Sermos compatible) are the standard power connectors used in Speed 400 to Speed 600 models. These connectors are capable of tolerating 30 amps continuous. They are non-locking so that in the event of a crash, the components can separate without damage.
When we install the connectors, we both crimp and solder them. This guarantees both electrical and mechanical connection for a maximum durability and performance connection.

GAB047 Install Dean's compatible power
plug on battery pack
$3.00 Dean's type power plug connectors are very popular for Speed 400 usage on the West and East coasts. These connectors offer lower connection resistance than the APP connectors, and already have a standard polarization.
When we install these connectors, we sheath the soldered pins in heat shrink tubing, and then go the extra step of installing a secondary piece of dual wall heat shrink that strain relieves the connector body to the wires. This helps prevent work hardening of the copper wire at the solder joint, and gives the modeler a good place to grab the connector for connection and disconnection.
The mating connector is shipped with all battery packs as well.

$69.99 This charger is a very robust and reliable peak detect charging system. The charge rate is controlled by a metered knob from 500 mA up to 5 A. The system can peak charge 4 to 24 cells using a 12V input such as a car or deep cycle battery.

Reverse polarity protection on power input (no fuses required)

Glow starter charger jack
